Duties: Serve as scorekeepers, sell Redskins Charitable Foundation raffle tickets, and assist at awards dinner

4-5th - Avon 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer


The WRCAA is entering a team in this years AVON Walk for Breast Cancer, which is scheduled for May 4-5, 2013. Fellow alum and breast cancer survivor, Melanie Nocera (96,98) will be our team leader.  Alum walkers are Lynn Sharkey (82,83) and Barbara Strittmatter (84,85)

We have lost alum to this horrible disease and thankfully have several alum survivors. The WRCAA has helped raise funds for breast cancer research since the inception of our organization. Please consider joining the WRCAA team this year! We will also field a "Cheer Station" like we did for the Rock N Roll marathon if you aren't a walker.

Training Camp Parking:  The City of Richmond will offer a variety of parking options for Redskins fans during training camp. The exception of City Stadium, which will cost $7 and includes a shuttle, all parking facilities provided by the City will be $5. All fees are flat rates for the day (with no in-out service). Available parking lots provided by the City of Richmond will be announced closer to camp.

  • Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on during practice, overlooking the practice fields. No bleachers are available on-site. Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center visitors can walk around designated areas outside the practice fields to watch their favorite players.

          Parade start time 2:00pm (Need to arrive no later than 1:00 pm)
          Parade duration time approximately 1 hour

Expecting 7,000 to 8,000 visitors along the parade route whom will be tremendously excited, entertained, and appreciative to see you! The festival day activities begins at 11:00am until the 2:00pm parade start, so if you can get there early we will have an opportunity to interact with the fan base of kids and families.

NOTE:  You don't have to go to the Amphitheater at 9:30 for the opening ceremony, but please be at the newer section 60 no later than 10:00 am. Suggest you download the ANC Explorer app to assist you with navigating the cemetery.  The WRCAA will be around the Aaron Vaughn and Cory Helman grave sites. Kimberly and Tonya will be there already. The wreath trucks will already be on site and will begin handing out the wreaths at 10:00 sharp.  Also...there may be other individuals standing by grave sites waiting to personally lay the wreath on their loved ones grave.  Please hand the wreath to them to do so and express your sympathy accordingly.  Thanks again for volunteering to help!

No other formal registration or sign-up is required. Just show up at the designated time and place.
